I've been reading on several websites and been pming with a member here of what areas a beginner like me needs to study/work on. I got to the conlusion that dream recall, meditation, LBRP , and how/why spells work are important areas to learn about. In several places I've also read that it's adviced to have a preparation time for at least six months before actually doing spells. What other areas are important during that preparation time, if I'm planning on wanting to practice high/ceremonial magic?I suppose reading books will be a big help?I'm going to read: Modern Magic and Enochian Magic for beginners. Are there any other specific books that are adviced for reading?Any other beginner's help is appreciated.

Modern Magick is a good one to start with but, I would wait on trying Enochian Magick until you have the fundamentals down first. At least until you are around the 6th chapter of MM.

One of the first things as far as techniques go is Grounding and Centering. By performing the LBRP you essentially are working these areas. Pay very close attention to the details of this ritual and feel each aspect try and use all of your senses as well. Don't worry so much about the visualisation at first as the feeling and knowing that what you are creating is there!

As it what kind of details? as in how I feel personally while doing the ritual: the feeling and knowing that what I am creating is there? Could you explain a little more?

From the Kabbalistic Cross, the Formation of the Pentagrams, Invocation of the ArchAngels each aspect (detail) has to be felt with all of your senses fully. Actually know that it is happening and it is there!

Know that you have surrounded yourself with a impenetrable barrier. And that all negativity is banished around you.

I agree with Redhand know that what you are doing or invoking is there and will happen and the visualization will come
try not to rush through each ritual take you time.
When you do say the QC let the invocation of the let each step ring out and feel the energy fully and embodied and then move onto the next aspect
As you do this the visualization will turn on like turning on a light

" feel it, believe it, know it "

Oke I see. I'll try and see how that goes. It might be me but what's the full word/definition of QC, I don't seem to recognize it?

Qabalistic Cross it is called, It was the first thing I learned after joing the HSOM. The QC and LBRP are the best for protection.

Does putting on some new age music make my senses more alert as I perform the ritual?Cuz I have tried it and I've noticed that it makes me feel more as if it's part of me and around me than when I don't. Does that make sense?

There's nothing wrong with that if it seems to help you. Don't let it become a crutch though, because you should be able to gain the same feelings without it as well.
