I have a friend who has been having nightmares and so I decided to turn a toy gun of his into a dream weapon. I couldn't find any chalk so I used pipe cleaners to make a big thurisaz rune in the alley. I put the gun inside the rune and said "Whe enemies in nightmares lurk, against them may this weapon work. Abaxacatabax!!" And fired the gun when I said the last word. any comments on whether you think this will be effective? I will keep you posted on what develops...

things of that nature sure they could work, but I prefer natural methods, such as plants and sleeping with crystals,
I personally would find a small piece of quartz, a piece of wood, or a rock to carve the rune on, and put these all ina satchel of herbs and put this under the pillow
if he ever believed the gun was real as a child that could help or if it was a real firing gun, but as it is only a toy, he never felt powerful with it.
nature can soothe dreams.
melatonin is nice, gives you vivid intense weird dreams,
what are some good sleeping/dream plants?
there is an african dream fish that people eat or smoke to have dreaming visions/lucid powers, as well as a few shamanistic plants for this, as well as differant plants that help dreams and to get to sleep

The above may work but also try this>

Run around the perimeter of your friend's bed a copper wire and tie the two ends of it into a loop. Then take the two ends and connect them to a ground point such as a garden tap or water wipe, or earth stake, with another piece of copper wire. The copper wire can be any thickness you have available and made into a large loop around the bed, so the bed sits in the centre of it. Make sure all wire joints have no insulation on them and they are electrically connected to each other. If any varnish or plastic insulation is on the wire remove it by scraping it off. The joints do not need any soldering and can be simply twisted together.

If this fails as a form of protection email me through this website and I will give you some more information.

Wow, I had forgotten about this thread. Thank you for input (again) Kimbal! I can't use it because I live in a group home, however. Oh well. And in answer to Chronazon, yes, I know of a few things that give vivid dreams. Natural beta blockers like parsley and especially an angelica root infusion work and so does nicotine like perhapse a tobacco tea (use under 3 cigs or you will get poisoned! A little goes a long way.) And definitely quinine.

The copper wire thing is good for keeping things out that may be invading your friend's dreams. you and also use a circle of sea salt and black salt for this. It is also best to cleans the room in some manor before implementing any protection circles. Also, you might consider cleaning the mirrors around him with an ammonia cleaner. They can also be portals that can be used to get to somebody.

If those things don't work, then it may be something that your friend needs to work out in some way and the scary thing in that dream is what he is not dealing with. In that case the herbal things from the other post may allow him to have those things expressed in a less fear inducing way.

I would have to agree that the best method i know to protect someone sleeping or not sleeping alike would be the cleansing of the room and using the salt mixture. The crystals and such in satchels works well too. Its all a matter of personal preference as to which path to take
