I am doing the Aids Life Cycle on May 31 and I have to raise $3,000 this is my third time doing the ride and the past 2 years I have raised wellover the min donation...this year onthe other hand people are bing very tight with there money...I understand why so I'm not mad...but I'm getting scared because its less than a month away and I still have only raised around half of my min donation *to date its at $1500*

Would it be right/ethical to use magick for help?

depends upon the spell that you want to use really, a money spell....perhaps, just know that money might be coming from somewhere else, a guidance spell to ppl that would be willing to donate is a different story

I have been derictin people online to donate that way they won think that im keepin any of the money....I'm just scared that in these days people will think that im "raising money for charity" and then going shopping...

if I can incorprate online funding into it do you think that would make a diffrence?

try consulting the tarot to see the outcome of your spell, you wouldn't want to create bad karma despite good intentions.

That would depend on your intentions. If you work a spell to force people to give to the charity when they might not want to, then that would be considered manipulation (and therefore unethical in the eyes of some traditions). However, if you simply work the spell with the intention of drawing the attention of those who would be willing to give money but haven't yet noticed the charity's existence, then that would not be manipulative. You would simply be making the opportunity known - the choice to actually give the money would still be their own.

I am inclined to agree with the nachtsorcier. Perhaps you could try a little glamour on it?

yea I woul dnever fource anyone to give money...just for people that arent familiar with the charity to find out about it and give something...

speaking of...

after meditating on it the past few days I found a email from my uncle said he was just sendin me money via pay pal for the ride and to cover any expences....

I found an extra $1,000...

talk about positve thinking!

It doesn't matter how it works or why,... only that it does. Even if it is just a cool coincidence, who cares? SOMETHING happened!

set up a beacon spell for charitable donators to find you.

You have to stay focused and once the spell is done walk away, don't put any defeating thoughts out there.

You can not decide your moral actions from advice from strangers on an online forum. You have to decide for yourself if something are right or wrong according to your morals. Personally I would have no problem doing magick to raise money for charity, or for that matter for gaining riches myself. However I would word the spell so that it says gaining money for the goal you have set, and not forcing people into acting against their own wishes. As long as you respect other people's free will. I do not see that there could be any problems. But off course, the judgment about whatever or not it is right or wrong is in it's entirety yours.

whenever you get back, i would like to hear how the ride was.
i have been wanting to join the ride, but my age/school schedule disagrees.

Hi, I'm new here, so I hope I don't step on any toes.

My personal opinion is that providing the spell is something along the lines of a 'money attracting' spell, rather than a specific 'that person must give me money' spell, I don't see a problem with it.
The reason for wanting to raise the money seems to be an honourable one and therefore I fail to see an issue.

However, I do also agree with Venefica. This is your decision, and must therefore be in line with your ethics. What I, or anyone else, may seem a ethical, may not be the same for you.
