I would like to ask all forum members: What draw you to the occult? How did you start?Did you succeed from the start in your Work?

I walked into an occult shop, met a woman who was a High Priestess in a Coven, she became my friend and teacher. I have not looked back, and have enjoyed my life, and all that I have learned.

May I know why have you followed her?And have you encountered difficulties as those that have very strong roots in a religion?

What draw you to the occult?
As long as I can remember I have always been interested in the occult (ghost, dragon, fairy, spirit, genie, magic). :D

How did you start?
I started out practicing witchcraft from books and information i could find online. From there I went to shamanism, ceremonial magic, and chaos magic.

Did you succeed from the start in your Work?
I wouldn't say that I have succeeded because I know that I have a lot more to learn. Plus, I keep switching gear. ><

No I left her three years ago and am following a solitary path. Yes I was raised a Christian and my family disowned me. I have not spoken to them in ten years. Sad.

i had ben turned of christianity by all of the hypocrisy,
so searched for paths that accepted homosexuality and stumbled upon wicca, then i learned that it was more than the whole natural healing and also involved witchcraft, then i studied more and i quenched my thirst for knowledge of the occult that had been supressed by my once held christian values, and more exploring led me to find this site.

When I was 14 I was introduced to a (very fluffy, in retrospect) girl who greeted me by flashing a pentagram ring and saying, "Hi, I'm a witch!" She told me what she knew, which was very little, and from then on I was on my own. I wandered through the Forest of Fluffydom for a year or so before I began listening for what it was I was seeking - communion. I'm happy to say that rather than clinging to childish ideals or moving on to another fad, I stuck with it, I woke up and paid attention, especially to the words of the Goddess:

"...let there be beauty and strength, power and compassion,
honor and humility, mirth and reverence within you.

And thou who thinkest to seek for me,
Know thy seeking and yearning shall avail thee not
Unless thou knowest the mystery:
That if that which thou seekest thou findest not within thee,
Thou wilt never find it without thee."

and those of the Horned God:

"Thou who thinks to seek me,
know that I am the untamed wind,
the fury of storm and passion in your Soul.
Seek me with pride and humility,
but seek me best with love and strength.
For this is my path,
and I love not the weak and fearful."

To this day, I believe humility is key.

All of us humans and everything in the universe is "into" magick. As an extension of Brahman, we have always been into it and always will be. More so when Kali Yuga is over with.
