speaking from experiance spiritual warfare is fighting on the astral mostly and can carry over to the physical. its a combat of energy, mind power, and sheer determination. I have been in alot of really big battles i mean two factions "hacking away at each other" type, its never pretty, and your putting more than your life on line, the most common tool that spiritual warfare specialists use is elemental energy, fire water earth air, light dark, now these are the main elements but theres several branches of elemental energy from there, that crisscross two elements or sometimes is just a broken down component, of one, earth and fire create magma, not praticurally useful, but intreresting. alot of times, specialists will do rituals, invoke creatures to their aid. and on occasion break the Laws. its a dirty buissness, i do not recogmend it to anyone that thinks they are going to save the world. it does not work that way. alot of the times those people end up being played by a faction or two. ive seen it done had it done to me, and quiet frankly it sucks

War is a matter of choosing a side or stepping aside. It's that simple or difficult depending on your situation. Once it escalates to that degree there is very little that anyone can do for harmony. The only hope is for the sides to come to their own terms.

Taking Sides would be part of saving the world. Personally I have no stake in any of it. I just get tired of seeing innocents caught inbetween something. For me there are people who abuse power on both sides. You can believe strongly that a action will help change something, but for me unless someone is in danger and truly is seeking help then I do not see the need to change their course of action. That is why it isn't a matter of saving the world for me, but looking out for the innocents. I hate it when people use others just for sports or fun. Trust me if I wanted to become powerful and attack I could, but I rather not.

theres always going to be spirits and gods influencing humans, and most of the time its for the good of us in the long run. now granted spirits sometimes step across the boundry line and try to control humans which is when hopefully (i think the latest avg. ive heard is 6 out of 10 ppl get helped) someone steps up to the plate and handles the situation. the best way is to support the side that tends to be on our side the most. which is usually the angels of heaven. because the Laws bind them to do it. now the trick is with spiritual warfare is looking behind the spirit that is standing right in front of you, and figuring out why they are doing this. Did that person hurt the spirit, so the spirit returned fire? whos really the main player? whos supporting whom? trace the lines back enough and usually it falls into three categories, Lucifer and his horde, a god swinging for some vengeance about something, or a renegade (i.e. enochian angels) spiritual warfare is more about knowledge than anything else. for instance i have a friend who just has a hell of alot of energy and can fling it well. but he cant curve it, add something extra besides change its type. his attacks are powerful but their brute force. if you have enough knowledge about energy, you can for instance redirect it, stop it or anything really. "knowledge leads to wisdom, wisdoms breeds understanding, understanding gives way to power."

Most of what I know is not published. I'm sorry about that part. I can tell you Dream Hunters are those that like to control people's dreams. They will enter them and terrify a victim almost feeding off their pain and suffering.

Jokes on them, my dreams are already terrifying. Too bad their is no literature, that sounds mighty interesting. Is their anyway to tell if someone is trying to mess with your energy fields, or dreams, possibly identify who it is in physical world?

Crowley was in a "magical war" with a rebelling faction of the original Golden Dawn. That event only had the effect of Crowley discerning that the Third Order had possession of his life in "their" interest; rather than Mathers. A "magical war" would suit no (read: N-O) purpose in the mind or thought of the legitimate, solitary practitioner of Magick. If you join an order and they betray their initiating master, than you might engage in a "magic war." Such acts, IMO, negate themselves in their utter baseness.

Okay Magikal warfare can not be fought to accually effect in the astral becsue you can't get physically hurt there the fights that would happen in the astral would have no affect in the physical plane. You can fight a war in the astral but it would do almost no good to eaither faction it would be a waste of time unless there was a system like a game where whoever wins the astral battle wins that one in real life as well. So basically people being harmed wise in a magikal battle in the astral isn't going to happen but if they come to you in person bad things can happen.

Let me tell you this, avoid any sort of magickal combat. I have had brief spats before, once against a friend who I'd been teaching(not to hard for me) and once with a rather powerful enchanter who came close to driving me insane. It's mainly a contest of will and strength of character. If you do have to fight then:

1) Try to keep it in your own home. You'll have access to all your tools, and a rreminder of who you are. It's important to stay true to yourself.

2) DO NOT GET OVERCONFIDANT AND TRY TO GO ON THE OFFENSIVE TO QUICK! I can't stress this enough.

3) Use everything and anything. My main skill is summonings and so when I've been attacked I've called on some spirit hellp. Few minds can focus properly while stopping a Djinn from entering it.

4)Finally, ground afterwards.

Spencer, that's not true. Sometimes people who incur astral damage also bring it into the physical realm as manifest damage to their physical bodies.
