A pentagram is just a pentacle upside down, but the meaning completly changes. The point down Pentagram, however, is not just Satanic, it is also, Masonic, wiccan, or anything along the lines of that, even christians use the pentacle.

The Satanic Pentagram

It is often thought of along with Black Magick, or Devil worship. It is very well known, and very very controversial. It is USUALLY upside down and mistaken for "evil" Satanists haven't used the pentagram for very long, it represents black magick, symbolizing the triumph of matter and desires over the illusion of Heaven. It often has a goats head in side of it, this is called baphomet, thus, why its called a Bophomet Pentagram. Baphomet comes from Templar legend, and Pan, the greek Goat god. The goat itself comes from medieval superstitions about the behavior or witches, depicted dancing with goats, or riding on them. To modern Satanists, it represents freedom of sexuality, and individualizes oneself.

If your thinking of the Seal of Baphomet anyway you put it.. I believe if the most information that is around on Baphoment would be from the Inqusintion of Templar in the 1300s or the last known information that could be 'valuable' true true the goat is depicted in alot of occult interests but remember what the "real" devil that was half goat but is actually a faun from greek mythology holding a pitchfork.. and yes the templar knights did worship with the seal of baphoment; I have the incompleted seal in my art book but my art teacher doesn't care and I go to school at a catholic college so not everyone sees it as evil. The goat is also used in many religions around the world which just proves the goat is universally awesome... I have no understanding of Baphomet so if you have any more information that is quick to read up on him could you please refer some to me :)?

but I think there are 2 different types of seals - the goat of mendes of mendes pentacle which is the satanic pentagram and there is levi's depiction of baphomet but any information you have on it I would like to read :)?

Could the pentagram come from an element of the circle divided by 5 to create the division of elements divided in half to focus and to use them individually. And maybe the fear of the goat is that in rumour I've heard that farmers used to use goats to lead the sheep to the slaughter house.
By the way this is purely theoretical.

If that is a photo and not a painting then at one time I had that body. The pentagram has been turned upside down inside out according to one's beliefs and practices. Just like the swastika which really was a cross in the crusades but Adolph got a hold of it but heck you know the rest. Let us try to stick together as I just need to survive in this sick world and my neighbors sure as heck won't help me.

"it represents black magick"
Sorry, I just have to jump in here and tell how much I dislike the term "black/white" Magick. Magick is Magick - it has no colour.

No you are right Magic has no color it is what one intends to do with it. It is universal and has no boundaries just intent. Good point.

And that is the way it should be. You are your own person. Stay that way for it will guide you in times when you can not trust anyone Isis.

Whilst on the subject of words - in the Satanic Bible, LaVey uses the term "Warlock". Did the definition change in the last few decades from what I have (namely liar, betrayer etc) or does Satanism have another definition for it?

I know after speaking to Oberon Ravenhart he still says that Warlock is used as a betrayer to this day. I asked him because it is used to describe a male witch in the hollywood genre. I have not heard any different but I am sure someone will write a book about it.

Isis, every time your wearing your pentagram your in the times you can not trust anyone - however you can keep people at arms length - because there are some people you will need information off and those times will always be forever. Everyone is a student in their craft - even the master, the only time we're not a student of our craft is when we de-voke it or die.
