As im currently eating dinner Ive had to put my book down for the moment, and i thought i would ask everyone about their own personal variation of the Lesser Banishing Ritual Of The Pentagram

For those of you who have read other posts i have made, you will know im currently studying from Kraig's Modern Magick (Second Edition) and that im quite meticulous in my study's.

So to cut to the chase, do you perform a varied version of the LBRP, as my texts have currently educated me, there are Wiccan versions, thelemite versions amongst others, if so i would be interested in hearing about the version you perform :)

Comments in regard to the LBRP are also welcome :)

-------

And within me shines the six rayed star.

Thats the version i am learning/ practicing.

So as i said, what version do you use ? :D

Look forward to your replies.

As a rule I perform once daily the New Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram (http://www.hermetic.com/osiris/nbrp.htm) which was written by a Frater Osiris.

One could say that the NBRP is a Thelemic version, which it is, but I think that a better term would be "New Aeonic version." Why? The paradigm of the previous aeon, that of the dying and resurrecting god, and people saw God as something ultimately outside of themselves. The paradigm of the new aeon, that of the crowned & conquering child, who is none other than the sworded & crowned sphinx, is one where people realize that they are God made manifest. And so in the NBRP we begin the Qabalistic Cross with Eheyeh ("I Am") instead of Atah ("You are"). The new aeon does not require one to adhere to Thelema; if one resonates with its energies, that of Leo-Aquarius, then that is already enough. So, anyone, Thelemite or not, can use the NBRP if they are in resonance with the paradigm of the new aeon.

I look forward to discussion about this Lapis Philosophorum that we call the LBRP. =)

This is one of my own very personalized rituals based on the LBRP format, it focuses on the psychological aspects of the elements in their respective quarters. It is meant to follow the LBRP actually. Me and some of my fellow Masonic brethren who practice magick are fortunate enough to be able to use our lodge whenever we'd like to, and I must say it makes a beautiful temple, and most importantly its quite spacious too!

(the Sign of the Enterer/Silence is assumed after every pentagram)

Banishing------------

(EAST)-"To the East, I hereby banish the vices of Air;
The illogical, the impulsive, the naive, and the frivolous."

"These thoughtless forces I cast to the winds of desolation."

(SOUTH)-"To the South, I hereby banish the vices of Fire;
The selfish, the jealous, the malicious, and the egotistical."

"These disorderly forces I throw to the flames of destruction."

(WEST)-"To the West, I hereby, banish the vices of Water;
the indifferent, the unstable, the insecure, and the apathetic."

"These dissonant forces I drown in the purifying high seas."

(NORTH)- "To The North, I hereby banish the vices of Earth;
the stagnant, the material, the stubborn, and the possessive."

"These unproductive forces I bury in the tomb of the annihilating sands."

(EAST)- "Through the purgation of negative elements and undesirable qualities, I create the sacred and destroy the profane. So mote it be."

Invocation------------

(EAST)- "To the East, I hereby invoke the virtues of Air;
logic, justice, reason, and diligence."

"These forces of the mind I seal within this circle, within my psychology."

(SOUTH)- "To the South, I hereby invoke the virtues of Fire;
creativity, passion, intuition, and growth."

"These forces of the will I seal within this circle, within my life force."

(WEST)- "To the West, I hereby invoke the virtues of Water;
wisdom, imagination, compassion, and modesty."

"These forces of feeling I seal within this circle, within my emotions."

(NORTH)- "To the North, I hereby invoke the virtues of Earth;
practicality, commitment, perseverance, responsibility

"These forces of materiality I seal within this circle, within my senses."

(EAST)- "Through the invocation of positive elements and benevolent qualities, I create the sacred and destroy the profane. So mote it be."

"It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end, who is, who was, and who will be, the Almighty. Strong are the jaws of the all-encompassing Ouroboros, for I stand secure with limitless potential, with the fires of the Phoenix behind my eyes, balanced with infinity at my fingertips."

By my hands mountains will crumble
and the fires of hell will subside
with my words the tide will cease
the four winds of heaven shall die
angels will cower before me
and demons will kneel at my feet
for the gods of all times are slain
and the divine that is left is me"

I've just been using the Star Ruby, that I understand has significant changes to it. For me, when I started magik, the difference was like night and day.
