Tis a pleasure to welcome you to the forums, there are people here from a variety of paths so im sure you will be able to read over a variety of topics.

Although in terms of actual learning, always remember, their is no substitute for a good book written by a knowledgeable person ;) and since your Australian, you might wish to check out Adyar, its one of the most comprehensive metaphysical book stores in our entire country to my knowledge and they do sales online to :)

To back up what Veneficus_V said, definitely pick up a good book and stick with it. The forums are a good place for questions along your way. I would recommend checking out some different paradigms and trying one for 6 months or so. I'm currently studying a really good basic book for beginners that deals with the Golden Dawn Hermetic magick. If you're interested I can link the book to you and help answer any questions you have along the way.
