Right now I am in an interesting spot. I've practiced magick for many years and have experienced very interesting events. Yet in the past few years I have begun to completely believe in logic, science, reason, and am almost quite atheist. I don't believe in any Prime God. The only thing worth calling "God" is the whole of the Universe.

Here is the interesting limbo...

The Greeks believed our Mind, our Psyche, our Reason was our "Divine Self". This is what separated us from animals. Also, the enlightened magicians/witches I have met have brilliant minds. Therefore, one could say, the "Higher Self" is the highest function/form of the Psyche/Mind.

It is also said, All IS MIND.

Is there any difference between an enlightened atheist and an enlightened witch/magician? One doesn't believe in magick, the other does. But does this really make THAT big of a difference? They are both sculpting and evolving the MIND.

There are three forms of knowledge.

The first is intellectual knowledge, which is in fact only information and the collection of facts, and the use of these to arrive at further intellectual concepts. This is intellectualism.

Second comes the knowledge of states, which includes both emotional feeling and strange states of being in wich man thinks that he has perceived something supreme but cannot avail himself of it. This is emotionalism.

Third comes real knowledge, which is called the Knowledge of Reality. In this form, man can perceive what is right, what is true, beyond the boundaries of thought and sense.

can a scientist get to knowledge of reality without first letting go of what is dear to him?

this is of course adherent to these three forms of knowledge.

Fascinating. Where did you derive these three forms?

The mind is not necessary for all things and even all people. There are some people without minds walking around out there, they exist on programmable instinct. I know one and she is actually very smart.

perhaps the mind is just a guise of instinct called ego?

Yes but one path allows for greater plasticity whereas the other remains closed.

Within the possibility of all being Mind, why would one deny one's dreams based on a warped sense of realism when realism can be both created and manipulated through an increased sense of personal awareness?

So. Yes. From my perspective at least, there are worlds of difference.

I see Mind as the larger element here and Ego as the defensive screen onto which we project images/objects and through which images/objects are projected both onto us consciously and into us unconsciously.
