Helping others get to the light

My mom told me today about how she used to have a weird connection where she will just be doing whatever and suddenly a person would call her name and ask her to help them to the other side she said she has tried her best and has shut this out was that the right decison mind you she shut it out 20 year ago and what would you call it

Was the decison right for her? and is she content with that choise she's made all those years ago?
Ultimately she's the one living her own life and only she can make the decision of what she is willing to live with or not...
