Hi all,

I have been out of occult scene for a few years now due to personal reasons and am just getting started again. Before my break I experimented with Wicca, Chaos Magick & the Temple of Set.

I definitely have a leaning to the dark side and find myself drawn to mythos of H.P. Lovecraft.

Yes lovecraft a genius but his works are not real although his book is so good that people have actually used it for practicing, it is still a work of fiction. Hello and Welcome.

True, it is surprising how many are treating the necronomicon as real. Although there is a view that the Simon version is based on a Sumerian system of magick and is the genuine article.

That said aspects of Chaos Magick draw upon the Cthulhu mythos very heavily and to good effect so perhaps Lovecraft has created some very powerful astral templates for the old ones - you never know :)

Donald Tyson is certainly making some money from it with his Necronomicon books and tarot cards :D

I know they do but it is still a work of fiction. If I still have the link I will try to get it for you, if not I will get it from a friend where it explains it. H P Lovecraft was a genius story teller but the book is fiction. It seems every one is making money off of someone. What can one do. Here it is. http://www.sacred-texts.com/nec/index.htm. He admitted before he died he made it all up, but it was such a powerful work of fiction most thought it was true. L Sprague De Camp was another writer who's works I enjoyed and perhaps they were both visionaries in that they knew they would fool the world but yet their works can be used in practical Magick.
