Default My first OBE experience, thoughts and comments are welcome.

The majority of my experiences with astral travel thus far have been mostly accidental. I know they haven't been lucid dreams because I have been a lucid dreamer since I was a kid and have always enjoyed doing so. Where else can you do whatever you want and get away with it? I've also experienced the falling feeling (the bad kind) and what I call the "land of screams" .
The first time I experienced an OBE was over at a friends house. it was night and I was asleep on my buddy's couch, but I was woke but something and stood up. The first odd thing I noticed was that everything was blue. Every single detail was normal with the exception of it was in the color of blue. Then I noticed I was still laying on the couch. Oddly enough I wanted my friend to see this so i walked into his room, without opening the door. I then saw he was asleep so I walked back out and went outside. Everything outside had that just rained on look, nice and shiny, but still blue. On odd feeling then came over me and I had a desire to fly, so I began to float till I reached some power lines that surround my friends house. It was like I was barred from going any higher. Then I felt a pulling and found myself back on the couch. It was my first but not last experience.

So you obviously didn't try to get out via visualization or ritual. Was it an accident or did something spur you on? Have you used a technique to OBE since?
    Mantra yeahhhh. Eggshells you smell.

It seems the falling feeling that you experienced the land of dreams was during sleep state

and when you realized you were falling ( falling out of the body ) the first reaction is to tense the body because we are aware of what is happening, the stomach coming up into the throat,

when it happens again fly and go with it, the whole thing has to do with control and you are in control so you know what your limitations are at this point

when you are falling realize that you can fly and off you go!!

The other day my husband said I was out of my body and there I was sleeping but my astral was standing over him trying to pull his astral out. He said he told me to let him sleep, so he said I sort of floated away. The strange thing is I remember it but yet it did not seem real.

Well, I couldn't really put my foot on what caused me to wake up but it wasn't anything startling. After doing it I tried to return to that same head space with varying success but the farthest I've been able to travel was just outside my apartment. No blue world though. The technique that I've had the most success is with trying to "semi-wake" when I first begin dreaming and to think of someplace I would like to be.

Yeah, I usually have that happen when I'm stressed.
How about the "land of screams"?
It usually happens when I'm just drifting off to sleep, I'm still in my body but what sounds like 100 banshee's begin howling and screaming around me. It frightens me so bad that I wake up.
