    Default Dizzyness

I've done astral projection many times in my life. I've also practiced certain shamanic practices involving going to The Otherside and various others.

Now when I go to my dream haven/shamanic temple/''happy place''... whatever you want to call it... as a means of going into other worlds... when I am in it I get dizzy and tend to spin around and such in them. I might even flip upside down or something. I can't control it. Any suggesstions on how I might be able to control this?

    Hmm.. unusual.
I have gone through something similar, it was displacement with me, I was there and was not so everything from every point of view was blurred together, I got around that by grounding myself again (though I trust you do this anyway) and I basically challeneged it head on.
With yourself, I would suggest retrying your methods and if you still feel dizzy then become stubborn, stand your ground and force yourself to stand still and face one spot, even if things move. If that fails you wont loose much and then you could look at yourself, maybe something is on your mind which is causing you to not give your whole effort to this practice.
These are the things I, Personally, did when faced with something similiar, I do hope it helps, if not, I look forward to other replies.

    Take care.

There is an exercise you might try that may help you. It is specifically designed to help you hold a steady mental picture. First you must visualize yourself on the planet Earth. make sure to keep in mind the size differences. Become intimately aware of the measurements and try to form an accurate picture. You must keep yourself as the center of the picture. Now put the moon into the picture, still keeping yourself at the center. Make the picture accurate in size and scale. Now add the sun, again trying to keep the picture as accurate as possible. At this point you may make the sun the center of the picture. Then start to add in the planets starting with Mercury and working your way out to Pluto. Make sure you are accurate with the sizes and distances from one another. Recreate the solar system in precise detail. Then add comets and asteroids. Just keep trying this every day, each day trying to get a little further, a little clearer and a little more accurate in your rendition until you can hold the picture in your mind ad manipulate it as you please.

EDIT: I think in fairness I should also offer you the entire source from which this exercise was taken and add a caveat. This exercise predicates a certain familiarity with Dharana meditation. The complete exercise, along with some supplementary training materials may be found in Liber Batrachophrenoboocosmomachia Sub Figura DXXXVI (I really don't feel like hunting up the key codes for the Greek letters).

Greek is fucked up, pardon my language. But thank you.

I will try these methods and come back with my results.

With practice you should be able to maintain the size and scale of your mental image accurately without the focus or center shifting. It takes a bit of getting used to but, I've found my own meditations greatly improved by daily repetition of this exercise. In the context of your particular problem I think it may help you to maintain stability by virtue of your own mental discipline.

I've struggled with controlling my astral reality too. Usually I can't run very fast because my feet don't get traction on the ground, or I get stuck in water and can't move. To get out of it, I usually just "move" myself someone else - instead of running I try to fly, and if I'm in water I just teleport out of it to any nearby land.

But about flipping around and spinning, I think practice will get you through it. The exercises mentioned above look great. I would suggest practicing with flat pictures - imagine it and fix it in place, don't put yourself inside it, just look at it. Then add colour to the pictures, bring them closer, stand next to them, add sounds and smells, and then finally begin to move yourself inside them. Go step by step and always keep control. If you lose control, back off and try again.
