    Default Is Random God?

I'm not sure if this topic has been discussed yet, so forgive me if this is an old subject.

The majority of divining methods are based on a random outcome. It's the flip of the coin that provides the answer. The I Ching, runes, and tarot all give answers through a seemingly random method. What then is the nature of the random number? For those who truly hold the answers of these divining methods as holy, what does "random" mean to you? Surely, if it offers you acceptable advice or a precise prediction of things to come, it cannot be classified as a chaotic outcome...

I do not think of the I Ching or any divining method as random. When you use these methods you are not only tapping into your power but the power of the old ones or even entities that can give you wrong readings. This is why I say a blessing and protection before I use anything. I have had the cards flip before my eyes and change, could be interfering entities could be the card has a mind of it's own. I use the I Ching once a year and have to use the GD cards in my studies, but I sit and see what I need to see and I am a conscious trance channel so my answers come from the Masters and such. The Universe has its laws and its mathematics and I suppose like numbers the results could be random, but there is a method to all the madness. I would not put it down to hit and miss, myself and ones who decide what needs to be known at that time. Do not forget we are capable of changing the out come of anything whether it be the flip of a coin or reading. I call it a mulligan stew.

Well I believe that my post agrees with yours in most respects. The improbability of the supposedly random outcome being right as it often seems to be should be enough to justify further investigation, especially with more complicated forms of divining that do not rely on the 50/50 chance of a coin toss. But people can fool themselves if they are not careful. You can find answers in anything, and they aren't always right...

Who are you referring to when you say "the Masters" and "the old ones"?
