Default Really? Has this been predicted?

Astronomers from the Minnesota Planetarium Society have found that the moon's gravitational pull on the Earth changed our planet's position in relation to its axis, making the original alignment of the stars, the basis for the zodiac signs, "off" by about a month. Thus, a thirteenth zodiac sign, Ophiuchus, was added to the original 12.

With the addition of the 13th sign, Ophiuchus, astrology fans wonder how the new sign will fit in. Art by Analyn Perez
With the change, the birth days assigned to particular zodiac signs might not be accurate anymore.

Minnesota Planetarium Society board member Parke Kunkle said in an interview with Minnesota Star Tribune that the ancient Babylonians based zodiac signs on the constellations the Sun was "in" on the day a person was born.

Over time, the moon's gravitational pull has made the Earth "wobble" around its axis, creating a one-month bump in the stars' alignment.

"When [astrologers] say that the Sun is in Pisces, it's really not in Pisces," Kunkle said in the interview.

Because of additional one month in the cycle, the birthday classifications under each zodiac sign changed as follows:

    # Capricorn: January 20 - February 16
    # Aquarius: February 16 - March 11
    # Pisces: March 11 - April 18
    # Aries: April 18 - May 13
    # Taurus: May 13 - June 21
    # Gemini: June 21 - July 20
    # Cancer: July 20 - August 10
    # Leo: August 10 - September 16
    # Virgo: September 16 - October 30
    # Libra: October 30 - November 23
    # Scorpio: November 23 - November 29
    # Ophiuchus: November 29 - December 17
    # Sagittarius: December 17 - January 20

Science news website LiveScience explained that early astronomers calculated the old zodiac signs based on the position of the sun as it's perceived from the revolving earth. Based on this position, the sun passes through the constellations that formed the zodiac signs - Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces.

Originally, the zodiac signs were determined based on the constellation the sun was "in" on the day a person is born. Astronomers observed the sun's travel through the signs of the zodiac in the course of one year, spending about a month in each.

However, a movement of the Earth called "precession" causes the Earth to continually move around its axis. The gravitational attraction of the moon on the Earth causes the movement, causing the signs to slip one-tenth — equivalent to one month — of the way around the sky.

Because of the movement, the sun may no longer be within the constellation of a sign during a particular period. For example, those born between March 21 and April 19 consider themselves to be Aries, but the sun is actually in the constellation Pisces on that period.

The new sign, Ophiucus, is the constellation right after Scorpius.

According to a report on news.com.au, the ancient Babylonians were believed to have removed the 13th sign because the 12 signs align more accurately with the calendar.

Ophiucus, the new addition to the zodiac sign family, is represented by a serpent tamer, holding a serpent with his two hands. The new sign is associated with higher education, healing and medicine. — RSJ/LBG, GMANews.TV

I remember reading about this a while back. I just cant remember anything ancient about it. What does this change by being widely accepted? Perhaps one of the signs of the new aeon? Maybe just another example of how science follows magick. Not the other way around. The fact that I didn't pick up on this sooner bothers me. Its the price of being a loner I guess. I am still a bit skeptical, but it is starting to make sense. Hindsight is 20/20.

Be ye wise as serpents, as harmless as doves.”

Ophiuchus; the Serpent bearer is a very large sign composed of two constellations, The Serpent (Serpens) and Ophiuchus: The Serpent Bearer. The foot of the Serpent Bearer is clearly within the path of the ecliptic, the apparent path of the sun, making Ophiuchus the 10th sun sign of the real solar zodiac, positioned between Scorpio and Sagittarius, making 13 altogether. Ophiuchus is often mistakenly called the 'thirteenth sign of the zodiac' because the sign is thought of as an additional sign to the twelve Tropical or Sidereal signs.

The sun can be seen against the stars of Ophiuchus between 30th November and 17/18th December each year. The dates of the cusps move a little from one year to the next, so sometimes they are quoted as 1st December to 18th December. Aquarius, the Water Carrier, is the actual 13th, and last, sign of the real Solar Zodiac. Ophiuchus is also a member of the a Planetary zodiac and the Lunar zodiac; as well as the Sun, the planets and the Moon can frequently be seen against the stars of Ophiuchus, from the view point of the Earth.

Ophiuchus is the stellar macrocosmic representative of the Kundalini Initiate; She/he who holds / or bears the risen serpent Goddess Kundalini. Ophiuchus has correspondence with the Greek healer/deity Asclepius and the Egyptian Imhotep (and Thoth). The ‘myth’ of Asclepius describe his Mystery (Kundalini) initiation. Asclepius, (in Latin, Aesculapius) learnt healing art from Chiron, the Centaur. It is from the (kundalini ) Serpent that Ophiuchus learnt the secret of the Elixir of Life.

In Greek star lore the Earth Goddess Gaia sends Scorpius to kill Orion, the Hunter. Scorpius stings Orion, who would have died had it not been for the intervention of Asculapius (Ophiuchus). Asculapius gave Orion a sip of the divine Elixir to restore him to health. In the earlier Egyptian myth it is Horus, son of Osiris (Orion), who had trouble with a scorpion, but Horus was healed by the powerful magic of his (winged-serpent) mother Queen Isis.

In Sumerian/ Babylonian mythology the serpent is Tiamat, the Monster of the Bitter Ocean, the biblical Leviathan. Holding Tiamat is Marduk, the Sun God of the Babylonians. They battle and Tiamat the Divine Dragon Mother is torn in two, half of her body forms the heavens, from the other half the Earth (Gaia) is formed. As Patriarchal deities dominated the many ancient faces of the Goddess, so too Ophiuchus was originally the serpent bearing Goddess-Woman-Priestess, such as the Cretan serpent Goddess, her upright arms bear the twin serpents (Ida and Pingala) that correspond to the Kundalini that has risen through the Ida and Pingala channells in caduceic equilibrium around the central channel (tree-middle pillar-etheric spine) the Sushumna.

[10th century Persian female serpent bearer]

To gaze upon the serpent bearing or serpent entwined Goddess is to unconsciously align with, resonate and evoke the potent and divine energies of the serpent Goddess Kundalini. The ancient associations and relationship between women, sacred wisdom and serpents ALL encode the mystery that is Kundalini.

    [caduceuskundalininitiation]

When the Gorgon Medusa was decapitated two streams of blood flowed, the blood from the left side spread a fatal poison, but blood from the right side was healing. Asclepius knew how to use the wise blood to restore the dead to life. This ‘myth’ encodes a profound mystery concerning sacred blood and the transformational properties of Kundalini.

    [medusacaduceusfractal]

At the Delphi Oracle, at navel of the world, the Pythia (python-Kundalini) priestesses used snake venom to induce a trance state. The women also breathed mind-altering vapors, rising from an underground pit at the shrine.

Ophiuchus is the 10th sign of the zodiac, its inclusion brings the vibration of number from a fractured 12 to a complete 13. Ophiuchus therefore has the occult numerical value of 13. The sun travels against the stars of Ophiuchus between November 30 and December 17, give or take a couple of days. December 22 is the birth/return of the Summer/Winter solstice sun, December 25 marks the birth of the Son of the Sun, be it Christ, Dionysis, Osisris, Mithras etc. The Son of the Sun is the Deity manifestation of the Central Sun-Source and marks the ‘second coming’, the birth-return of Christ (Christed-Christal-Crystal DNA) consciousness within humanity and is generated by personal, planetary and galactic Kundalini Initiation.

The birth of the Sun God aligns with the macrocosmic Caduceic Galactic alignment and the illumination-activation-‘birth’ of the microcosmic central sun within the brain, the Pineal gland quickened by the risen Kundalini.

With the activation of personal, planetary and galactic Kundalini Initiation the stellar gateway of Ophiuchus streams its energies of the wisdom of the serpent to the awakening sentient planet, Gaia. Attributes of the occult constellation of Ophiuchus are currently hidden in our current astrological system, within the sign of Scorpio.

The attributes of Scorpio are the Scorpion, Eagle and Serpent. The earthly scorpion corresponds to the root chakra while the soaring Eagle is the flight of ascended consciousness and spiritual awakening. Scorpio has been assigned the key symbol of Ophiuchus, the serpent (Kundalini). The powerful energies of sex, death and rebirth are associated with the Kundalini Initiation and Ophiuchus and have been concealed within the sign of Scorpio which is why Scorpio is such a doubly loaded sign and one usually viewed with trepidation and suspicion, not unlike the number 13 (and serpents) in general.

Sex is the physical manifestation of the mystical union of polarity within the Initiate creating the divine Androgyne. The Death aspect refers to the initiatory death process (daath) and rebirth (Phoenix/Dragon) that occurs during the Initiation by serpent Kundalini. Through Initiation (by Kundalini) one becomes an Ophiuchus.

The formation of Ophiuchus and its relationship to nearby constellations reveal a macro fractal caduceus, the symbol of the activated chakra system and Kundalini Initiation. The body of Ophiuchus, the serpent bearer itself is the occult central staff/tree, the lower motif is the constellation of Serpens the Kundalini serpent, and the wings of the caduceus are the constellation of Aquila, the Eagle. The close proximity of the constellation of Corona, The Crown above the head of Serpens refers to the Kundalini risen to the crown chakra, hence the serpent bearer is crowned. The crowned queen or king as a key symbol of alchemy symbolizes the serpent Initiate of the mysteries.

Serpent bearers such Quetzlcoatl (Aztec) or Kukulkan (Mayan) were depicted as the feathered serpent. Their potent symbolism represents the Polarity Integration, the mystical union of the Divine Hermetic Marriage. Serpent unites with wings, God weds Goddess, Light and Night entwine in ecstatic samhadic embrace.

Ophiuchus is placed between Scorpio, the life force, and Sagittarius, aspiration toward higher wisdom. Mercury, the androgynous god and psychopomp of the Mysteries was able to travel safely from the depths of the underworld (Muladhara/root chakra) to the heights of Mount Olympus (Sahasrara/crown chakra) by virtue of the Caduceus which is a fractal symbol, mystic doorway and key with which to unlock it..that corresponds to the (Kundalini) serpent Mysteries and Initiation. The scorpion is symbolic of the root chakra, and the wings of an eagle (falcon in Egypt), are the soaring flight of spiritual attainment and ascended consciousness.

As personal, planetary and galactic Kundalini Initiation and awakening from the slumber of illusion occurs over the next several years an occult quickening from the vibration of 7 to the vibration of 13 is occurring. The fact that in the western world the number 13 is considered ‘black’ and unlucky is a manifestation of the conspiracy to deny entrance to Source with the Kundalini key, to the realisation and awakening of At-One-ment and our own inherent divinity. Its taboo nature is a decoy concealing the fact of the great power concealed within the attributes and occult fractal expressions of the number 13.

"Ophiuchus is often mistakenly called the 'thirteenth sign of the zodiac'"

Mistakenly? I think not. Maybe this is a test to see who would accept this in their christian dogma. I believe that by mainstream media accepting this may be a serious blow to catholicism and christianity for the herds.

I'm so glad someone brought this up. This is very important to me. In some ways, more than I can explain. The fact that it was always there but ignored by a civilization that couldn't find a place for it in their cosmology leads me to suspect that there may have been precursor civs that were aware of this and that its incorporation into Babylonian science and culture was almost alien.
