    Default Ritual in Chaos Magic

I know chaos magic is highly personal and to use what works best for each magi.
However, I'm curious, as I have recently branched away from my Wiccan beginnings, if your chaos magic revolves around rituals.
If so, are you concerned with lunar cylces, or do you just work with subconscious energies and forget the moon altogether?
Also, if there are rituals, are they similar to wiccan rituals with the circle of protection and the invoking of the 4 quarters?

I'm almost finished reading Peter Carroll's Liber Kaos and it's incredible. I resonate with it far more than I ever resonated with the Wiccan books I read when I first became interested in magic. I know that right now this is what I'm supposed to be doing.

Tomorrow is the full moon and I wanted to do a new ritual but I wasn't sure if I needed to wait until tomorrow to do it.
I also want to do a banishing ritual but do I really need to wait until the waxing moon?
I know this is all supposed to be "experiment and do what feels right", but I would just like some of your personal experiences/opinions (if you're willing to share) so I can gauge myself.

    Thanks so much..

You are missing the entire point of chaos magic, friend!

YOU decide whether the moon cycles matter to you. For me, I record them but I have not done enough practice to know how they affect me, it's all an experiment. The reason why I record moon cycles is the sole fact that woman's menstrual cycles are often regulated by the cycle of the moon. This leaves me with the idea that the moon obviously has an effect on human physiology.

If so, are you concerned with lunar cylces, or do you just work with subconscious energies and forget the moon altogether?
Again you miss the point, you are closing yourself into a few theories, when they are in fact countless. Who says subconscious energies exist? You decide. For me, I feel no matter what kind of energy system you prescribe to, you will see results conforming to that belief.

Also, if there are rituals, are they similar to wiccan rituals with the circle of protection and the invoking of the 4 quarters?
Again, you decide; however, the 4 quarters seems to be a good starting place for basic protection, but I've seen people add a fifth or acknowledge 8 quarters. Experiment, experiment!
I also want to do a banishing ritual but do I really need to wait until the waxing moon?
Pardon me, but.. F*CK THAT!!! Banish everyday! That is like saying you can only teach your baby to walk on only the first day of every month!!! The baby will learn faster and grow stronger if he/she practices every day. Now if you believe the waxing moon empowers your banishing rite, make an extra special one for that day, and observe your results! Have fun.

There are no rituals or spells that are specific to chaos magic. Chaos magic is not a magical system in and of itself. It's a framework to understand how magical systems are put together. It will help you design a ritual, but it won't teach you one to follow.

Chaos magick is about choice. If I choose to use the effects of the moon for example, then I am bound by that physical law. If I choose not to use the effects of the moon then I must suspend the moon's effects for the time it takes to do the working if I think the moon should have an effect. You can choose what laws you want to work with and suspend the rest for the duration of the working. The thing to remember is when the working is finished the desired result must be compatible with all the physical laws.

The easiest example would be time manipulation. If I want to speed up or slow down time I can suspend the law of our progression rate through time for the length of the working but as soon as I stop things go back to "normal."

Another example is if I want to do a working and find a deity that has dominion over that type of thing I don't need to believe in that deity except for the length of time it takes to do the working. This is where the use of pop culture in magick comes in. If I want to do something that say Neo or James Bond could do you only have to believe that they will give you that power for the time it takes to do the working. I see these sorts of pop icons as thought forms that can be used because millions of people have put so much energy in them over the years.

In magick, it is important to be aware of your environment, to expand your consciousness by being aware of even simple things in your environment, like noticing what the sun and moon are doing.

You can have fun casting and testing results at different moon phases. I have found that moon phases slightly affects the potency by drawing on the collective consciousness.
