I've never made an introduction thread before, but I suppose it will be worth it to be rid of that notice =)
I came into Hermeticism by way of the back door, through having many years of practical experience with eastern religions, primarily Buddhism, where I have practiced the method of vipassana meditation taught by the Buddha for a length of time. After twelve or so years studying Buddhism (my entire adult life) my interests and studies have increasingly arched out into western occultism, first through Frans Bardons system of initiation, more recently through such prolific writers as Stephen Skinner, Bill Whitcomb, Helena Blavatsky, Agrippa, Mathers, and to a lesser extent Crowley and such figures as Carlos Castaneda. Though I have not studied Him, I feel increasingly pulled to Carroll and similar writers in the Chaos vein of magick.
My knowledge is still very limited and largely academic (as opposed to experiential), and I hope to learn much in my association with others here, others no doubt far more versed than myself.
