    Default greetings and some questions

    Greetings everyone,

I turned 18 last month and am living on my own in an apartment in northern California. I first became interested in the occult when I was 11 years old, due to a chain of events that led me to start practicing some basic magickal rituals. I was doing the LBRP daily for a while but it got a bit much for me. I think I was too young at the time to fully understand what I was doing and it started bringing out some aspects of myself that I wasn't ready to deal with. I stopped all my practices after a couple months and now after reading up on these things for well over a year I believe I am ready to give it another go.

My life has been far from typical and I have a lot of issues that I'm hoping magick can help me to clear up. Lately I feel like I've become aware of quite a lot and sometimes I'm not sure if what I'm feeling and experiencing is real or if I'm going insane.

I guess I just want some confirmation. Does everyone who gets involved in this stuff start forming all kinds of connections with things in the world? I feel there are all kinds of things in this mysterious universe that fit together, like everything follows the same basic pattern and the only differences are those we observe in this material world. A child is born and a country is founded, are these events truly any different? A person, a society, an entire planet, are they all the same in the eyes of "God"? We have our human perspective, which is indeed very valid; but there are countless other perspectives out there that we can tap into to see things in a different way, and then by bringing those perspectives "down to Earth" we can surely do many great (and perhaps terrible) things. But what "things"?

A more practical question I have, is if I am going to start performing the lesser rituals of the pentagram then is it necessary I have all the correct tools before I actually start, or can I go ahead and do what I can with what I have? I have a walk-in closet which I believe would be a great place for performing rituals, but is it okay to do this with no tools and with normal electric lighting, or should I first get candles and other things?

I hope this is the right place for my questions. Thank you.

    Welcome...

You might need to read a bit more on the subject.
Magick is very personal and for some, tools are important and for some, they are not.
As far as the walk in closet, any space is fine as long as you find that you can focus on whatever work you are doing.
When it comes to the lighting in the closet, again it is up to you what you prefer.
Personally I like to use candles, but keep in mind candles take up oxygen, so if it's small space, make sure there is enough airflow....
