You are very welcome :D - I'm glad I could help. And all credits should go to my mom - she taught me that.
Oh and I almost forgot: I'll plant two more: 2 months ago I received seeds (a friend sent them to me from Germany because I couldn't find them in my country) for cherry tomatoes and Chinese snake cucumbers - they need little space to grow and are really delicious:

One more thing: you can probably find already made plastic boxes for this that you can re-use every year, so u don't use cups - it is a bit harder to find it here, but since you are in America, you probably have it in every store that keeps things for gardening. Just beware: if they don't already have holes on the bottom you should be very careful with watering!

Those are some nice tomatoes!
I'm getting some mandrake(old world) and belladonna seeds. I think it might be too late to start belladonna's though. Maybe not if i keep them as indoors.
All my expierence at growing stuff is from college, and i was growing what most kids in college grow ... LoL. I'm getting a bunch of other seeds too, maybe i can sub something for the belladonna's or just stick to mandrakes. Anyone else looking to do something similar this season? Maybe we can collaberate. Take pictures, share notes? lol.

I've always wanted to grow mandrake. When I used to grow medical marijuana I was made aware of all differant kinds of strange fertalizer such as Grandma Eggy's seaweed extract and red wizard fertelizer. I would like to (afford to) use some of these, and the growing techniques/lighting on magical plants. For anyone who lives in a state that allows this, I would definitly reccomend (if you have time and space for it) growing cannibis, it is definitly a spiritual plant to have around, with a lifeforce so vital you would feel if you need to water, or do anything to it from across the room, it was like having a concious plant being of a nature I have never had before. my favorite part was watching the new shoots at the top open up, it looked like a little person bowing every time a new shoot would open up

You can grow just about anything out of pots. Ideal for those who do not have a garden or the soil is of insufficient quality.

If you go the pot route- er, planter route- you can use hydrogen peroxide (from your local dept. store) to help with plant growth. I use a solution of one part hydrogen peroxide to ten parts water when I water. This helps aerate the soil the plant is in. It's also awesome for rooting cuttings in water. I snip some softwood cuttings from my herbs, root them in a cup filled with the above mentioned solution and- voila! New plants in a few weeks. Cheap propagation method.
I second the mention of adding sand to your beds, as well as the seaweed (if you can afford it). You can also build raised beds at first, and gradually till them under year after year to improve the local soil quality. I had to do the same when I lived in California. We had hard clay soil where I lived, and I improved it by adding horse manure, some sand, and growing beans the first year (adds nitrogen back to the soil).
