    Default Silver Ravenwolf

I would like to hear what you guys have to say about the author.
I kinds have a love/hate thing with her. I agree with a few of her ideas, but then she is a bit of an extremist

It is funny you bring this up. A few friends of mine who are Wise Women can not stand her. It is the old ways versus the new modern ways. I have said this before there was a huge fight that broke out between the Wise Women and the followers of the modern craft, I got caught in the middle. I do not dislike nor like her. I tried to read one of her books at the book store but could not get into her. Still I am told her books sell so I do not know.

Thank You for that. I myself have read books that paved the way that now would not even occur to me or fit in with where I am now. We all have to start somewhere.

Migene Gonzalez-Whippler was my first author. She confused me after I read books from other authors and I gave her book away. As for Ravenwolf, the one book I read was Solitary Witch, and all I like are her spells she offers. The rest of it needs better sorting out.

I ran into a girl the other day whose mother is a high priestess in Alexandrian, and she told me her mother is not too happy with Silver Ravenwolf as she tells kids to rebel against their parents. I have no basis for this, but I am wondering is this true?

Well not meaning to down her but, the word Fluff comes to mind.LOL I have found some errors in her books also in the descriptions and qualities of Gods/Goddesses. But, some need a place to start so why not!

Yeah, in a forum, she called my friend a lamb in a pack of wolves.

I agree with everyone here. She can be a good place for people to start, but she's a useless fluffbunny. Typical New Age-y, watered-down hippie stuff.

Ravenwolf also encourages kids to disobey their parents when they don't need to (sometimes it's necessary, but Ravenwolf just thinks getting into paganism because it's "hip" and "rebellious" is alright), and focuses way too much on magick. Magick is a part of the picture, but it's not even close to the whole thing.

My girlfriend (a relatively traditional Gardnerian Wiccan) started with Ravenwolf and others like her, but now she's even more annoyed by them than I am. It's kind of funny, actually.

if youre going to start off ravenwolf is good for a general concept, personally i like scott cunningham better but even he i have a few unsettling moments about him but its just difference in technique. but if you are wanting to find your "bible" stay away from ravenwolf. anyway i know some people that would be like NO DONT GET RAVENWOLF! but heh whatever. just becareful she can be a bit of a fluffer
