You must have chaos within you to give birth to a dancing star. - Friedrich Nietzsche
Anyway... ...I just carried out the experiment. I really felt the energy flow through my body, and for a moment I seemed to make a mind travel.
I do sincerely hope you're being sarcastic.
Then she doesn't make sense... ..."She Devil", and then so godly.
Also, God isn't the name of the Lord, YHWH is. There. Now I did it. I'll go to hell. No I won't, I'm buddhist
I'm afraid I'm from a very God-ignoring family who doesn't believe in the idea that God cares for pretty much anything. I'm sure actually of all the things that he doesn't care about, I would imagine that this would be very low on his list. Christian ideas of what God wishes are not something that I follow as I am not theistic. That said if anyone is offended by anything I say, they can go bake themselves some ice cream (to import a German idiom).
very high on his list, I meant.
... your point being?
It sounds like you're implying that it's not worth doing.
As much as I don't think this is a very controlled "experiment" I'm not too worried how old it is.
All magick must be created. Why should the only measuring stick for its worth be how old it is?
The first recorded instance of the LBRP is from Eliphas Levi - so we're only talking ~150 years ago. Does that mean it was crap 149 years ago? When did it become good enough to be the foundational practice for many 20th Century magicians?
You might want to think about your own value system for what makes a good ritual before you poo-poo creativity. Maybe get some Chaos Magic up ya - it's a good antidote for dogma.
It's neither either nor or,
