    Question Help Identify Some Symbols

Hi, I am new here, just looking for a little help finding out what some symbols mean on this charm i have had for a while. any help is appreciated. i have found out some of the stuff, but alot of it doesn't make sense because some of the stuff is from different cultures then the others, thinking it may only make sense to whoever it was made for.

    Thanks again.

I agree Thor's hammer. notice the runes and figure which extend to scandinavian regions. also there are roman numerals.

I believe these are new creations though please do correct me if a am wrong.

well judging by the shape I have to agree with dpglotus and go with it being a representation on Thor's hammer, or Mjöllnir. That would thus make it a symbol of protection. The runes on it each have a particular meaning.

From the first picture the "R" shaped one is Raidho, meaning the Wagon or chariot. It symbolizes Travel, be that on a life path or just upon a vacation...

Then "AS, CROWN, XXXIV... personally I could only guess at the meaning there.

The Rune from the second picture, the "F" shaped one, is Ansuz meaning The As, ancestral god, i.e. Odin. A revealing message or insight, communication, etc...

Then you have the symbols for infinity.

Ultimately I would look at it as a Talisman of protection upon your travels.

That sure is Mjolnir. XXXIV is 34 in roman numerals, As means "Strong" or "Divine" in norse. One one side is the rune Rado, which translates to "Wheel" and on the other side is the rune Ansuz, the rune of wisdom and of Odinn. The symbol for infinity is a newer symbol, however.

The overall shape and the runes, I assume you recognize. The AS XXXIV means Anno Societatis 34 and proves that the amulet was created by and for a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism in 1999. The symbol on the back is probably the artist's initials included as a maker's mark.
