Default Using occult for airy/mutable signs/personality

My astro sign is gemini & I strongly believe that I am heavily influenced by all gemini qualities, which renders me inconsistent & wishy washy instead of being focused & pragmatic. My tendency to do things is such that I hardly finish what I start & seldom follow through on things.. For instance, as ironic as it may sound, since about 7 years I have been trying to read the news paper daily but on an average I have made it only like 15 times a year. Frequently, I also fall prey to analysis paralysis.
I have tried deploying several means such as affirmations, writing diaries & also medication(for my minor cognitive impairment, short term memory loss & attention deficiency but I believe all that has something to do with my sun sign), all of those have helped me to a certain extent but there is still a very huge scope for improvement.

My intention is not to blame the planets but to know how I can reduce the airy/mutable aspect.

I also fall prey to all those symptoms of being an air sign that you fall prey to.

I think the best you can do is keep taking those memory drugs and if you feel like you don't want to follow through, think to yourself, "If not now, when?"

It's hard, but you need to convince yourself that, for example, reading the newspaper every day is just what people do, and that's just what you do. It's an old mind trick, but I think it works well.

I find that if I'm suffering from lack of attention to one thing I'll do more than one thing at once. I've had up to six things going at once and all seem to have gotten done almost at the same time. It can look something along the lines of listen to music while reading, taking notes, answering forums, random writing, answering phones, text, chat and draw all while sitting at work. I've even had two conversations going while drawing or reading a book... Don't ask, idk... it's something I figured out when I was little. lol

Maybe you might need to look at some other ways like grounding yourself, doing continual mindfulness exercises, etc .

The brain is something that also physically can be re-wired. The problem though with medication is that it does make this process harder.
It is one of the hardest thing to do in a life time, but once you have done it, it's permanent.
There are several possible reasons for why you have these issues from just a physiological (brain) perspective and why your brain behaves the way it does, but the main thing is it can be changed over time.
You also mention: 'I also fall prey to analysis paralysis', it seems like OCD might also play a role. Still even that can be changed, over time.
Also, keep in mind baby steps with everything and if the news paper is not for you, find something else you would be more interested in and to keep you focused.
Just be careful that astrology does not become your 'analysis paralysis' in itself.

One thing which has helped me is writing my goals, my intention is to write them daily which I forget, but I write them at least once a week & that helps a lot. By writing them, I can keep a track of my performance, I don't really need to write my main sense of purpose as I always remember it (but I still do it as it helps in planning & breaking goals to steps) but I find it vital for things of secondary importance, as those are the ones that I tend to forget.

It may suit you but multi tasking is really not my cup of tea. If I try to do several things at once, I usually end up doing neither of them very well. But iiiif you have the knack for it, good for you.
