I believe the power of the bible of be extremely diverse that just one passage can apply to thousands of different situations. This however, I think strays a bit from the original intent. You seen to rush to put in 'devil' in places where God's name should otherwise reside. I believe in taking from the bible and learning from it, however it would seem more useless when twisted and perverted into what you want it to say:
You do not seek guidance, only seek to prove a point.
I've found that although the bible is a powerful thing, it's the mindset you approach it with that has an even greater effect.
needless to say: I disagree.
