1) Go read
redhand's post on the LBRP. Follow exactly, and make it perfect. Take your time, and be sure everything feels locked up tight. Then do it again, slowly and perfectly.
2) Do it AGAIN. Seriously. For a third time in a row. Take a few deep breaths, and really really really make sure you do every step as thoroughly and intensely as possible.
3) Take a step back from other practice. No rituals, no pathworking, no spells, not even any candle magick or knotwork. Nothing. Personally, I'd even avoid movies and video games: even that stuff can carry an imprint if you're in an 'open' state.
4) Organize and clean your personal space. Take out the trash, do your laundry, dust your cabinets, change the sheets on your bed, pour cleaner down your drains, everything. If you're in a place where you can smudge with sage, lay salt, or burn a cleansing (not pretty) incense, I would suggest that as well.
5) Clean your self, thoroughly. Not just a regular bath or shower, but a full ritual cleansing. All your used clothes should be out in the laundry, and you should make sure to use a fresh towel to dry with. Put on clean, loose clothes of simple solid colors, preferably white or yellow. Avoid dark blues, purples, and greys or blacks.
6) Avoid non-prescription medicine and all complex substances for the next few days. That's everything from NyQuil to marijuana to alcohol to coffee and cigarettes. Ideally, one might go as far as to eat only bland food, such as unseasoned rice or oatmeal (no onions, garlic, pepper, sugar, or syrup). If possible, drink only water, preferably distilled, cleansed and blessed if you're into that kind of thing. Also, sexual release of any kind should be avoided, as the point of release can be a huge energy drain, as well as an opening for anything that may be causing you trouble.
