Default Correct altar using of candles

im going to make an altar for the grim reaper and I need to know if I'm supposed to let the two seven day candles burn out or would it be a bad thing to blow them out?

Given who the altar is for, it would be symbolically useful to extinguish the candles deliberately to represent the ephemeral nature of Life. Once you do, though, you shouldn't relight them. You're honoring Death, after all, not zombification. Leave the extinguished candles on the altar. You can always reset the altar later if you want to preform another rite.

I agree. Black tallow candles probably would be best.
