Seeker of knowledge...
Hi everyone! I'm going to stick with my online name of Obsidian for this intro. I live in Canada, and I found this place mid my nightly searches online for books of all things.
I cannot really give the lable of "occultist" to myself. I'm a Christian, but... big but here... I practice more in line with Pagan teachings than say the current church focus. (Frankly I find most churches focus on money more than actual biblical contexts but... whatever their choice, I choose not to participate.)
I have a hard time finding books on things I am seeking. I find most the books tend to be alot of fluff and not alot of substance. Which is why some of my friends who are purely pagan call me an Occult leaning Christian.
I don't buy in to the "angel magick" camp and other "Christian" magick. I rather do things properly and have it based in historical practices.
Since I was quite young, I had to deal with having psychic gifts while living in a very strict Christian home. In my teen years I blocked it off as much as possible due to my up bringing. Over time I gave up trying to hide my nature, and this is what draws me here...
I'm seeking a no gimicks understanding of things the Church does not talk about without labling it as "demonic". EG Magick, spirits, psychic gifts, energy work, past lives ect.
I'm ultimately here to learn and seek more knowledge.
Currently I meditate, astral project and deal with the odd spirit that desides to talk to me.
I'm 27 years old, and very open minded.

Hi I'm from the west coast, and new, Canada as well, your story is the
same as mine growing up, but I've become the green natural witch I was.
Who also likes ceremonial magick, but uses it in a elemental, energetic, numerological, planetary/astrological and archetypal filing system.
Dont poo poo angel magick though, I'm not christian and angels do exist as demons or deamons/ greek for spirit. I prefer to see them as elementals, as the name of god is 4 elements/4 archangels and the tarot cards can all be subscribed to these energies or archetypes to increase understanding. I study the qaballah with a pagan eye as the first hebrews were polytheists.
As ex chrisitians alot of pagans also throw angels and qaballah out, but i think its a huge mistake, its the map of creation or worlds even when u astral travel.
