What should I do? I think my house is really haunted...

And I think it's my fault. (mind you this is a fairly long story, sorry, I didn't know how to shorten it up)

Let me start off by saying my parents have been married for 30 years or so, they've never had any problems whatsoever. They've always been as happy as any couple could ever be. We've only lived in the US for 15 years and we finally settled down six years ago in a pretty big house. Both my parents had a job and were doing fine, I was going to middle school....

Then all our problems started. I don't know if it began since we moved into the house, or if it was when I started doing what I wasn't supposed to... Let's just say I made friends with a really evil girl, Lexi. We both started getting into gothic stuff, I started wearing all black, drawing pictures of satan and such ( I was 11 or 12 at the time) and we started getting into witchcraft. We would have these seances every week at my house, completely unprotected and uprepared. We tried to call any type of spirit, any demon, anything at all. The only time we ever got an answer was when all the candle flames started stretching out towards my bedsheets, no matter how far we put them till they actually caught on fire. Luckily we put it out before anyone knew what was happening. Lexi and I had problems after that because she would humiliate me and call me a slut and say she was embarrassed to go out in public with me.

We stopped being friends after that. I got into this really depressing stage where I would cut myself, I had no friends, would stay in my room locked up... And that's when my family started having problems.

All this while, after Lexi and I had our seances, my family and I would start seeing things... and hearing things. My dad works home alone because he's self-employed and he hears footsteps around the house all the time. I would hear those footsteps outside my bathroom door, like they walked to the door and walked away, and would freak out.

I was once home alone and I heard someone pound really hard on the door and I got so scared that I called the police. When he got there, he found nothing.

At night, my mom hears things falling in her room and when she turns on the light, there's nothing there. My aunt, who now lives with us, says that every day she hears something climb out of her bed at night and walk away, so she uses ear plugs. I wake up paranoid sometimes just to see a silhouette at my door, like someone turned on the light in the hallway and walks away when I look at them.

My parents are having problems now, they got divorced, they have problems every day.... My dad just isn't the same person anymore. He looks like he's empty. I sometimes feel unnecessarily depressed and start crying... My mom gets drunk and bickers at me every day. What happened to the loving family we once were?

I see these black shadows on the wall in the hallways, but there isn't anything that causes them, no objects or anything like that. I see these white figures flash beside me all the time, like they're walking in front of me but they disappear. My mom has seen that same white figure in the garage, so has my dad in the basement...

Those things (the footsteps and such) used to only happen once a week or so but now they're happening every day. One time all four of us (me, my mom, dad and aunt) woke up at the same time because we all heard someone screaming in our face... I hear whispering in my ear at night all the time, and someone walking away...

All my friends who come over don't come back because they get scared shitless.

It's like whatever is in our home wants to cause us misery, but doesn't want us to go. Once we all decided to move out, that way my dad could live in a new home and me and my mom could go live in another. My parents changed their mind, though, and took the house off market. My mom decided to move to a house with my aunt and leave my dad with the house we currently own but then my aunt and mom got in a fight and changed their minds. Now my mom wanted to move to an apartment with me, but then she changed her mind. So after a year of everyone (but me) changing their minds on what they want to do, we're still stuck in this house.

The house was new when we bought it, only 8 years old, so it can't really be anybody that died... I just don't know what to do.

I'm thinking of having a seance again (this time casting the circle for protection and everything) and my mom has even agreed to do it with me. The only one who doesn't want to do it, he even screamed at us when me and my mother suggested it to him, was my father. I tell you, he isn't the same guy as before. He's gotten into the habit of locking himself in his office meditating for hours... I've had to get my mother to break open the door because he was in there meditating for 6 hours straight and we were worried.

Should I attempt to contact whatever is tormenting us? I really would like to know why he or she is doing this to us, what do they want? I am tired, sick of everything that's been going on.

Should we move away finally? I'm underage still so I can't make any of those decisions, but whenever my mom or dad does, they end up changing their minds all of the sudden... I don't know why.
Just please, whoever was actually able to read my long-ass story could you help me?

I've seen this dilemma before. Your haunting seems to be cased by a few things: Demons, and Sylphs.

Demons (though they cannot take material form without a spell) have the power of suggestion. So if any demons were called during these 'seances' you and your friends had, they would treat you with taunting noises, visions, and maddening thoughts. The most lethal thing a demon can do is push a suggestion, this is an idea of despair or hate, what you experience when you get depressed, and what your parents may be going through with this divorce.

Sylphs would be those occasional 'white people'. The Sylphs are very social spirits, and are normally attracted to anyone who has an aptitude for magic, or has ever casted. They are not able to speak our tongue, however, and only speak in tongues. Sylphs are generally friendly, and seek the company of people who will accept them. I can pretty much guarantee that the Sylph is not the source of many of your problems. More often than not, Sylphs just want to be recognized and treated kindly. Sometimes they will have knowledge to offer, and sometimes they will have a request, and are seeking the help of those who might understand them.

So what to do with them? I wouldn't worry about the sylphs, but the demons is another story. I can't help with banishing spells, but I can tell you this: Demons only influence people when they are alone or near alone. ( 1-2 people in the area.) The more people who are around, the less likely an attack or presence is. The best cure is to show mental fortitude, a will to keep your own, and not be brought down by any of this.

Don't attempt to contact the spirits. It will increase their activity, and it sounds like most of their activity results in negativity.

Does your family acknowledge that there could be paranormal explanation to the things happening in the house?

You're going to need to banish the spirits, and then seal the banishment with protection so they can't come back. And so more can't come in. I would not attempt to do this yourself if you don't have experience doing this sort of thing (I would assume you don't according to your post).

You and your family might want to consider getting a professional involved to help. Choosing a professional can be difficult, not all of them know what they are doing, and some are frauds. Oh god now that I think of it, those things always happen when we are alone... I am really scared now D:
My parents, or at least my mom, are really spontaneous and radical when it comes to spirituality and religion. She reads the bible one day and the next she throws out all the bibles we have in the house. Then she says she believes in mother nature.. etc. and next thing you know she's back to God again. I don't count on her in that sense...
My dad is Wiccan, spiritualist whatever you may call it, but he hates people. Other than me, of course. I've mentioned it to him before but he got all mad at me. My dad's a total recluse.
And about the sylphs, do you think they have knowledge of how to get rid of all our problems? I realize my parents can't ever get back together, but can they ever be happy again?
Also, do you think I could contact this sylph without calling up the demon, too?
And sorry if I have so many questions, but is there any way of telling for sure if this is a demon or a sylph or a bad spirit or do I just have to guess? Like I said, I really doubt my parents would call a professional.

Now here's what I would do with the sylphs. (reminder, these are the 'white beings' not the shadow ones.) Next time you see one, don't treat it with fear or worry, but kindness. If you wish, talk to it in your tongue. Sylphs are known to speak 'in tongues' so if you try that, I'm sure you can get results.

Ever just start babbling with your friends? Speaking in tongues is when you speak in gibberish that no one seems to understand, but you speak it easily with what feels right for the emotion you are trying to convey. It's almost like reading body language, but verbal. There is no formal way to speak in tongues, but once you get used to it, it's fairly easy.

Once you establish relations with the sylph, it should be non-hostile. It will gladly answer questions and such, but again, in tongues. It is best to give the sylph time, and talk to it only when it appears. Evoking or summoning the spirit is not a popular means of communication, and can only damage your relationship with it. The sylph may or may not be able to help you, but it's worth a shot anyway.

As for the demons, keep ignoring them. A banishing technique I found was to burn pine needles in the home, but I wouldn't suggest doing that as it may raise the attention of parents and/or burn the house down.

Ok this could be a potentially ....or rather even worse situation. U may want to take up the suggestion from krimson about getting the proffessional help required.....however considering what you have written and the feel that you are ill experienced I wouldn't automatically assume there are slyphs in ur house. The negative influence is what u feel and detect , therefore u should assume that's what ur dealing with at the moment. If your parents are unable to cooperate separately you must get everyone together enough to reason with YOU. Make sure to convince them together of what you want to do about the help. If they don't listen make them listen with something that ull do enuff to get their real attention. Nothing is lost unless you accept defeat. Be creative I'm sure they love u, so there's gotta be something u can get their attention making them overthink their fears for the love they have in u to be rational. Dealing with a negative influence like what's going on now may be difficult I understand..... But u must fight the fear and confront it with all ur will. Laughter.....laugh when ur afraid.....laugh to distract urself. Laugh when ur sad. Laugh hysterically against their attempts to frighten or hurt u. Laughter is the only emotion that vanishes all thought quickest and effectively. Laugh evn to cry for crying is a lesser form of laughter. It is itself a type of banishing. Trust me on this. Gain the confidence, the authority and the will to push back. Reach out to your parents together. Especially since together the activity dies down. That means it has less influence over all of u. Get the proffesional help if u truly believe and know its beyond a pyschological level and ur dealing with something dangerous. Don't attempt anything urself with summoning or contacting unless its to fight back. I hope this helps. This is what I can offer to u. ChaosWolf800, thank you :) I have the strange habit of laughing hysterically when I'm scared or nervous so that shouldn't be hard to do. As for the talking with my parents, I'll try and wait until everyone's together and talk to them. See, they believe there's a spirit in our house but they think it has nothing to do with our problems. And the subtle way all of this has been happening, I can see why they think nothing is wrong. But once I put it all together and see the situation from afar, it's a whole different perspective. I don't know how I'm supposed to explain that to them.
Hmm... is speaking in tongues the same thing as what Lisa Gerrard does? I love her music, haha, but anyways I'll try that once I see one.
And yes I'm ill-experienced but I would love to not be... I try and do my research and read, I have a whole bunch of books about the occult and such but I've never really gotten to put it to practice. I'm the worst kind, haha, the one that just sits and reads.

Absolutely :). If u truly think that this stuff going around caused all the issues its definitly worth looking into. Do ur parents know what u have done with ur friend all that time ago? If they don't well.....then I can't say no more. The choices are for u to do. I don't want to say rings that would make a situation worse. hey some ideas to help and stuff.
The Pine needle thing is a good idea. but i wouldnt burn them. another way to use the pine needle is to make and asperger out of it. (asperger is kinda like a spray thingy) so if you have a spritz bottle of some sort put some pine needles in it and fill it with water. walk around and spray a little bit when you feel the need. (kinda like spraying a cat with water lol) but that also could agravate whatever you are dealing with, but that isnt as likly to happen. another asperger would be rosemary and salt in water. these are basically herbs (and the salt) that have protection and exorcism properties to them.
Also an idea about making things a little happier in the home would be to use aromatherapy!! citrus smells tend to brighten things up and keep away the negativity. so if you would have a citrus scented candle (or just eat an orange really obnoxiously) that could help make things a little bit easier to deal with. i read somewere about a little chant to help calm yourself down and rid negativity so here that is too
