Default Infected and back on the meat market

I was diagnosed with Hep C two years ago. I am assuming I got it from my husband when we were IV drug users because he had it as well. I've been clean and sober for several years now.

Now I'm going through a divorce and am talking to someone. I have no intentions of keeping this from him, but it has been only a few weeks since we've been exchanging text messages and the likes. Supposedly Hep C is not an STD, but I think it's important for him to make a decision on how he feels with that. I wouldn't want to sleep with someone who is infected STD or not.

Any suggestions on how to bring it up to new friend? Dating again is intimidating for me, especially with my rancid blood coursing through my veins.

Maybe introduce it on the grounds of trust. You are trusting your partner with this information. This will demonstrate a respect which he will hopefully feel compelled to trust in equally and if nothing else make the conversation easier to start.

I do agree with Mrs. Peel; If he truly cares about you then he will endeavour to understand.

Hey there those who answered, thnak you for your replies. I wanted to include an update: boy of interest dropped out before I could even tell him, so thankfully it happened because I probably would've felt slightly rejected for more sensitive reasons than him just dropping out.

Anyways, I'm going to treatment and in a year or so my viral load will test negative. I thank god that I wasn't born in the 70's when HepC was still a mystery on how to treat. Very cool.

Well Hep C is nowhere near as bad as people would assume it to be, I had 2 friends who had it and as long as you treat it, one really doesn't feel it that much. Plus your body naturally fights it too

I think the biggest obsatacle of it is that it is known as IV-user disease (of course it's any blood swaping). I felt so ashamed that after I had did a 360* here I was sick from my past. Lesson learned and I count my blessings.

    Thanks you guys.
