Default Michael Ford's Luciferian Witchcraft Theban Symbol

    Greetings all,

New to the forums, I'll post my intro later.

I am seeking information on the "Theban" also referred to as "Theben" symbol utilized as imagery by Michael Ford, Luciferian Witchcraft author and scholar.

This image is on the back of his tarot deck. It is also smattered throughout his books.

He states it is an "Grimoire" symbol of lucifer and resistance. I use his tarot deck regulary, and am curious if someone can provide proof that the symbol is indeed old, not simply one he created.

    Thanks

    ~Blut

    Blutbilder,

I do not have Ford's tarot deck but is this the symbol in question?

If it is then according to Ford this symbol is the Sigil of the Vampiric Will amd the Luciferian Spirit and his understanding of Predatory Spirituality.

In truth The "Sigil of Lucifer" is a magical symbol. It originates from sixteenth century Italian "Grimorium Verum". It is used in conjunction with other infernal seals and sigils to sumon the angel Lucifer.

Theban is a word that describes an alphabet, the "runes of Honorius' thought to be created by Honorius of Thebes according to Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa's De Occulta Philosophia (1531) and Johannes Trithemius's Polygraphia (1518). It has also beeb referred to as the Witches Alphabet.

My belief is that Ford reinvented the sigil/symbol for his own needs, that being Luciferic and vampiric.

Yes Etu, that is the symbol. Thanks for posting a pic for others reading this thread.

I perused the Theban / Witches' alphabet before posting this question and was surprised to not find the symbol included in any form. Your response with the book of origin is helpful, thank you.

I've ordered it to simply explore the history a bit. I'm quite attached to using the L.T. -- it is highly accurate for me, and was thus considering getting a Tattoo of that symbol on my chest.

Appreciate the help and the links. Cheers,

    ~Blut
