Little is published regarding Aleister Crowley's advocacy of the ouija board. Yet, he had great admiration for the use of one and the Ouija board played a passing role in his magical workings. Crowley also discussed the Ouija board with another of his students, and the most ardent of them, Frater Achad (Charles Stansfeld Jones): it is frequently mentioned in their unpublished letters. In 1917 Achad experimented with the board as a means of summoning Angels, as opposed to Elementals. In one letter Crowley told Jones: "Your Ouija board experiment is rather fun. You see how very satisfactory it is, but I believe things improve greatly with practice. I think you should keep to one angel, and make the magical preparations more elaborate."

Crowley has stated, of the Ouija Board that, "There is, however, a good way of using this instrument to get what you want, and that is to perform the whole operation in a consecrated circle, so that undesirable aliens cannot interfere with it. You should then employ the proper magical invocation in order to get into your circle just the one spirit you want. It is comparatively easy to do this. A few simple instructions are all that is necessary, and I shall be pleased to give these, free of charge, to any one who cares to apply.

I personally am not fond of this device but, it does work on the familiar idea and is very similar to automatic writing, the only difference between the two being the absence of the board itself in automatic writing. . Most of the dangers are results of the practitioners themselves. It is a powerful tool in the occult and we would warn anybody who does not know what they are doing to steer well clear of the Ouija.

It is said dealing with the dangers that most often the spirits whom are contacted through the Ouija are those whom reside on "the lower astral plane". Therefore, many can be violent, negative and potentially dangerous conditions are present to those using the board. Often times several spirits will attempt to come through at the same time but the real danger lies when you ask for physical proof of their existence! What you have just done is simple, you have "opened a doorway" and allowed them to enter into the physical world and future problems can and often do arise.

Whether one believes in it or not, it is a tool, and as with any tool it takes practice and study.
Brilliant as always my friend. Wanted to let you know bridges have been mended and all is well.

ouiji boards are not to be trifled with. as you can tell, those of us with first hand experience know now what a mistake it is. it is like a portal to the looney bin of spirits, they will pick your mind and tell you things, if they are strong enough they will feed off you and diminish your spirit, they will become your friends, for they wish you to join them someday. but other than that have fun with it

I like to use them by myself mostly. When in groups everyone elses juju usually gets in the way. You just turn of your thinking parts and watch what happens. Like it was said in this thread before, its not unlike automatic writing.

Sometimes you meet really cool spirits. Sometimes you meet dicks. One spirit caught my friends hair on fire while we were chatting. I've talked to people who used to live in this house I'm at. I've talked to things claiming to be Lucyfur. I've tried to get ahold of Jesus too but he was a no show.

Another use I read about was to use it as an occult laptop. Take it with and "type" out spells or glyphs on it. Maybe get into radioncs here and use a ouija inspired keyboard for a computer but plug it into a crystal or some occult transmitter. Thats awesome.

Feel free to use it but just keep in mind it's a bit risky. Don't take anything from it seriously. It's like a party line on the tele, yeah yeah I'm a big shot millonaire with rippling muscles and a huge dick. Thats cute and entertaining but thats it.

It's not a controlled method at all. Anything can come in and say its anything. I've had nice spirits tell me wonderful warm fuzzy **** but they were rotten to the core and shot off icky nasty vibes. Even if you meet Lord Buddha on the path, you gotta kill that guy.

If you do get bad things, or even good things, just tell them to leave. Then make them. Throw some incense around or whatever it is you do. They go. They have other kids playing with spirit boards to mess with.

Reminds me of the time my house was haunted by a spirit pretending to be an old man. It was so ma......

    Default ouija boards

Listening to Art Bell and friends i hear a lot of dabblers who are genuinely
worried about what they've called up with the O-Boards. They have not
the least idea of what to do or how to dismiss their visitor. Rather than
try and talk them through the basics of Craft, i point them at this:

Gives them the feeling that they have done something to actively defend
themselves. Good attitude is important in these things.

I take a different approach to oujia boards. I have never used one personally but I believe your reality makes the difference, if you use one with the intent or belief it can bring spirits into your home it will. If you believe it's just a toy, then it perhaps will be just a toy.

They are a tool, the purpose of tools is to focus and magnify your own energies and powers. So it is quite possible you'll wind up with a spirit in your home even if you DO think of it as a toy. Ironically, when this happens and it is a ill-disposed entity.. You're likely to focus on the board as your problem when it can help to be a solution (If you summon by it you can banish by it)

I once had a situation with a future student and her friend. I was teaching them to make orbs when an astral attack on them occurred (the friend had already been attacked in the past and was particularly vulnerable) and upon reaching their home (the lesson was over the phone, so I projected) there were dozens of shadowy creatures crawling over her home. And more on the way. I spent a good 5-7 minutes getting rid of them. The point here is that when you focus energy, the law of Like attracts Like comes into play. This is one of the reasons why people say things like "don't get involved with stuff you don't know about" but.. Well, we all are inexperienced at some point- to live by that would be to throw off anything new.

So as I said, the board is simply a focal point/tool. Good or bad things can happen depending on what you do with it in my opinion. Though I've rarely heard of someone having a good experience with them, I won't make my final decision until I've had an experience.
